This unit was installed in the loft of a cottage, accompanied by a HiFi system, and is used to store a large CD collection. It features a patchwork top with butterflies, and continuous grain on the sides. The timber was sourced from a pine log that was salvaged over 20 years ago on the property and left to dry in the basement. The 9ft log was milled in my studio with natural edges left in tact, and the order of the planks was kept the same. From certain angles you can see how the edge follows the same rough curvature, varying on each layer. Finished with a natural hardwax oil. With age, it will patina to match the incredible interior of the reconstituted barn frame of the cottage it resides in.
